Lap 2 Crash leaves Jake Kostecki last at Philip Island

Jake Kostecki picked up his 1st last-place finish of his eSeries career when his #33 Unit Holden was involved in a multi-car the crash that ended his race after 1 of the race’s 16 laps. The finish came in Kostecki’s 2nd start.

Scott McLaughlin in the #17 Shell V-Power Ford started the race in the rear after winning race 1, but by turn 1 Jake Kostecki in the #33 Unit Holden collided with Macauley Jones in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden, sending Jones off the track. He, however, would recover and continue. Kostecki would retire shortly afterwards after contact with Shane Van Gisbergen in the #97 Red Bull Holden at turn 5. Alex Davison in the #19 Ice Break Holden, who was also involved in lap 2 chaos, would retire around the same time. However, as he was ahead of Kostecki, the latter recorded last.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was Lee Holdsworth in the #5 Bottle-O Ford after involvement in a crash at turn 10 on lap 1, Rick Kelly in the #15 Castrol Ford, and Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden after colliding with Van Gisbergen at turn 6.
