First lap contact leaves Reynolds last at Albert Park

David Reynolds picked up his 2nd last-place finish at Albert Park when his #9 Penrite Holden retired with Steering damage on the opening lap of the final race at Albert Park.

Jason Bright in the #8 BOC Holden started the race in the rear after a disastrous Albert Park round, but at the first corner David Reynolds in the #9 Penrite Holden had a collision with Nick Percat in the #222 SP Tools Holden, damaging the Suspension on car #9 and dropping him to last. Next to fall out was Jamie Whincup in the #88 Red Bull Holden after a Mechanical failure on lap 3.

Rounding out the bottom five was Aaren Russel in the #4 Plus Fitness Holden, Chris Pither in the #111 Ice Break Ford and Andre Heimgartner in the #3 SP Tools Holden.

Several Engine failures finally leaves Todd last at Albert Park

Todd Kelly picked up his 3rd last-place finish at Albert Park when his #7 Carsales.com Nissan retired with Engine issues before the start of the third race at Albert Park.

Just before the start of the race Todd Kelly’s #7 Carsales.com Nissan started billowing smoke out of the back of the #7, and as the rest of the field started the race Todd Kelly was in the garage.

Next to fall out was Jason Bright in the #8 BOC Holden who after running wide on the second lap tangled with Andre Heimgartner in the #3 SP Tools/Torini Holden, James Moffat in the #34 Valvoline/Wilson Security Volvo and Dale Wood in the #96 GB Galvanising/ADVAM Nissan severely damaging both cars #8 and #34, putting Bright out of the race and both Bright and Moffat in the bottom five.

Splitting Bright and Moffat in the final order was the final car out of the race, Scott McLaughlin in the #33 Valvoline/Wilson Security Volvo after a sudden loss of Oil Pressure caused him to spear off the road on lap 6. Rounding out the bottom five was Cameron Waters in the #6 Monster Energy/Castrol Ford after a Drive-through penalty for contact with Will Dasvison in the #19 Darrell Lea STIX Holden.

Steering failure leaves Moffat last at Albert Park

James Moffat picked up his 2nd last-place finish at Albert Park when his #34 Valvoline/Wilson Security Volvo retired with Steering damage after 1 of the race’s 12 laps.

Jason Bright in the #8 BOC Holden started the race in the rear after his second last-place finish at Albert Park, however by the end of lap 1 Tim Blanchard in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution Holden collided with David Reynolds in the #9 Penrite Oils Holden and Andre Heimgartner in the #3 SP Tools Holden, damaging the suspension on car #21 and dropping 2 laps and to the rear until lap 4 when he passed James Moffat in the #34 Valvoline/Wilson Security Volvo, who had retired from the race due to Steering dramas, leading to his second last-place finish at Albert Park.

Rounding out the bottom five was Andre Heingartner in the #3 SP Tools Holden, with car #3 retiring late in the race after a tire failure with just a couple of laps to go, Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness Holden and Nick Percat in the #222 SP Tools Holden.

First lap contact leaves Bright last at Albert Park

  Jason Bright picked up his second last-place finish at Albert Park when his #8 BOC Holden was involved in a two-car crash that ended his race without completing a single lap of the first non-championship race at Albert Park.

Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness Holden started the race in the rear, however in the first turn on the first lap Jason Bright in the #8 BOC Holden was turned by Scott Pye in the #17 – Holden, damaging the nose of Bright’s car. In turn 3, the front bumper bar caught underneath the left-front of the car, causing the car to sail off the road and retiring car #8 from the race.

Next to fall out was Todd Kelly in the #7 Carsales.com Nissan, with car #7 losing an engine at the start of lap 2, triggering the only safety car of the race. Rounding out the bottom five was Nick Percat in the #222 SP Tools Holden, Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness Holden and Andre Heimgartner in the #3 SP Tools Holden.

Wet conditions leave rookie Russell last at Adelaide

Aaren Russell picked up his 1st last-place finish of his career when his #4 Plus Fitness / Penrite Holden crashed into the turn 8 barrier during the warm-up lap of the shortened 48 laps of the third race of the season. The finish came in Russell's 4th start.

The field contacted to 25 for the third race after Chris Pither and the #111 Ice Break Ford withdrew after a hard crash in the second race. James Moffat in the #34 Wilson Security/Valvoline Volvo started the race in the rear after a Power Steering failure during qualifying, however the rain came before the start, and Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness/Penrite Holden crashed into the turn 8 barrier on the warm-up lap, damaging his car and dropping him to the rear.

The rain also meant that the first six laps were completed under the Safety Car. Within a lap James Moffat in the #34 Wilson Security/Valvoline suffered Suspsension damage and pulled into the garage, dropping to 24th, 10 laps off the leaders, however with the high attrition of the race Moffat got to the last car in the bottom five.

Splitting Russell and Moffat was Chazz Mostert in the #55 Supercheap Auto Ford, crashing heavily on lap 28, Dale Wood in the #96 GB Galvinising/Advan Nissan who retired on lap 30 for unknown reasons. Rounding out the bottom five was James Courtney in the #22 SP Tools Holden on lap 34, crashing heavily in Turn 8 while leading, however with many cautions and a Red Flag meant that Courtney could get back out and be classified.

Pre-Race Failure leaves Percat last at Adelaide.

Nick Percat picked up his 6th last-place finish of his career when Electrical issues prevented the #222 SP Tools/Torini Holden from starting the second race of the year. The finish came in Percat's 81st race start.

Nick Percat in the #222 SP Tools/Torini Holden suffered an Electrical issues before the race began, pulling off the track before the race began, retiring before the race began and finishing last.

Next to fall out was Chris Pither in the #111 Ice Break Ford when car #111 hit the wall at turn 8 on lap 2, first hitting the outside wall then slamming the inside wall, ending his weekend and triggering the first safety car of the race.

On lap 11 disaster struck for Garth Tander in the #2 SP Tools Holden, with a starter motor drama on lap 11, losing 4 laps. Coming back out onto the track, he was hit by Tim Blanchard in the #21 Cooldrive Holden, damaging the Radiator in car #21, with the debris from the collision triggered the second safety car of the race. Blanchard lost 6 laps and fell behind Tander in the standings. Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness/Penrite Holden rounded out the bottom five.

BOC Racing fuming after Slade finishes last at Adelaide.

Tim Slade picked up his 6th last-place finish of his career when his #14 Freightliner Holden stalled at the entrance of turn nine after 12 of the race's 39 laps. The finish came in Slade's 218th race start.

Aaren Russell started the race in the rear in the #4 Plus Fitness/Penrite Holden, and almost immediately Tim Blanchard in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution Holden fell to the rear, with Holdsworth in the #18 Preston Hire Holden got spun to last in turn 6. Holdsworth held it until lap 5 when last-place was shared by Chazz Mostert in the #55 Supercheap Auto Holden on lap 5, Jason Bright in the #8 BOC Holden on lap 6, then Nick Percat in the #222 SP Tools/Torini Holden on lap 10.

Suddenly on lap 12 Tim Slade in the #14 Freightliner Holden stopped at the entrance of Turn 9, with the Gearbox unable to engage reverse gear, triggering the only Safety Car of the race and dropping Slade to the rear of the field.

Rounding out the bottom five was Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness/Penrite Holden, Tim Blanchard in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution Holden, Lee Holdsworth in the #18 Preston Hire Holden and Andre Heimgarnter in the #3 SP Tools/Torini Holden.
