Late race Suspension failure leaves Jack LeBrocq last, and Superlastcar Leader, at Sandown

Jack LeBrocq picked up the 11th last-place finish of his career when his #34 Truck Assist Holden retired with Suspension issues reasons after 32 of the race's 36 laps. The finish came in LeBrocq's 160th start, and LeBrocq takes the lead in the 2022 Superlastcar Championship.

Taking the lead from Scott Pye, who has missed two races due to massive crashes, says a lot about how tough his 5th full-time season has been for Jack LeBrocq. He was 15th in Practice 1 but slipped to 19th in Practice 3. He returned to 15th in Qualifying.

Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden started the race last, again, but at turn 3 Jake Kostecki in the #56 Tradie Ford got turned around, collecting Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden, Macauley Jones in the #96 DrillPro/tools.com Holden and Todd Hazelwood in the #35 Trick Assist Holden, Hazelwood copped the worst, forced to the garage and to last, losing 7 laps in repairs.

Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden had to pit twice to work on the bonnet which was heavily damaged in the lap 1 crash.

Anton de Pasquale in the #11 Shell V-Power Ford ran over the back of teammate Will Davison in the #17 Shell V-Power Ford, damaging the steering on car #11, sending Anton to the garage, losing 6 laps in repairs.

Just as it seemed that Hazelwood would pick up last place, teammate Jack LeBrocq in the #34 Truck Assist Holden retired with 3 laps to go, dropping to last place post-race. Rounding out the Bottom Five was Nick Percat in the #2 NTI/Mobile 1 Holden after Power Steering issues and Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden after bonnet issues.
