Simona De Silvestro picked up her 1st last-place finish of her career when her #78 Harvey Norman Nissan finished under power, one lap down in the second race at Hidden Valley. The finish came in De Silvestro’s 14th start.

Alex Rullo in the #62 Repair Management/Castrol Holden started the race in the rear after being excluded from qualifying for a near-crash with Garth Tander in the #33 Wilson Security Holden, however at the end of lap 1 Will Davison in the #19 Woodstock Bourbon Holden pitted, dropping him to the rear. On lap 2 Garth Tander in the #33 Wilson Security Holden pitted along with others, dropping to the rear. On lap 5 Tim Blanchard in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution Holden pitted, falling to the rear.
