Defending Champion Jacobson takes lead of Last-Place championship after Last place at Sydney Motorsport Park

 Defending Champion Garry Jacobson picked up his 5th last-place finish of his career when his #35 Yellow Cover Holden finished under power, on the lead lap in the final race at Sydney Motorsport Park. The finish came in Jacobson's 46th start.


Garry Jacobson is in his second full-time season, now for Matt Stone Racing after his rookie season, where he scored the most last-place finishes for 2019. He was 18th in Practice 1, but rose to 16th in Practice 2, and rose a little further to 14th in Qualifying.


Anton De Pasquale in the #99 Penrite Oils Holden started the race in the rear, and anchored the field during the early laps. On lap 4 Macauley Jones in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden fell to the rear.


On lap 6 Cameron Waters in the #6 Monster Energy Ford started falling back through the field, and pitted on lap 7, though initially avoided last as Anton De Pasquale also pitted and returned to last. By Lap 11 Garry Jacobson in the #35 Yellow Jacket Holden had fallen to last. Jones and Jacobson briefly exchanged last a couple of times over the next few laps.


Rounding out the bottom five was Macauley Jones in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden, Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden, Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden and Alex Davison in the #19 Local Legends Jerky Biltong Holden.

 Zane Goddard picked up his 2nd last-place finish of his career when his #34 UNIT Holden finished under power, 1 lap down in the second race in the second round at Sydney Motorsport Park. The finish came in Goddard's 4th start and is his 2nd in a row.


Zane Goddard is sharing the #34 UNIT Holden with Jake Kostecki. He was slowest in the Rookie Only Practice, 21st in Practice 1, dropped to 23rd in Practice 2, and qualified 16th.


Todd Hazelwood in the #14 Brut Max Defence/R&J Batteries Holden started the race in the rear after a vibration put him out of Qualifying, but by Turn 2 Macauley Jones in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden fell to the rear. Hazelwood returned to last by the end of Lap 1, and fell over a second behind Macauley Jones in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden by the end of lap 2.


Pit-Stops started on lap 9, Bryce Fullwood in the #2 Middy's Electrical Holden pitted and dropped to the rear, though Hazelwood returned to last on lap 10 after his pitstop. A pitstop on lap 12 put Lee Holdsworth in the #5 Truck Assist Ford down t last. The following lap Zane Goddard in the #34 UNIT Holden pitted and fell to last.


Rounding out the bottom five was Alex Davison in the #19 Local Legends Jerky Biltong Holden, Macauley Jones in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden, Scott Pye in the #20 DeWalt Holden and Todd Hazelwood in the #14 Brut Max Defence/R&J Batteries Holden.

Pit-Stops started on Lap 8, and last-place was exchanged between Scott Pye in the #20 DeWalt on lap 8, Rick Kelly in the #15 Castrol Ford pitted on lap 9, Alex Davison in the #19

Local Legends Jerky Biltong Holden pitted on lap 10, Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden pitted on lap 12, and finally, Goddard returned to last after his pitstop on lap 14, and on lap 15 went a lap down and held it for the rest of the race.


Rounding out the bottom five was Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden, Garry Jacobson in the #35 Yellow Cover Holden, Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden and Alex Davison in the #19 Local Legends Jerky Biltong Holden.
