Steering failure leaves Moffat last at Albert Park

James Moffat picked up his 2nd last-place finish at Albert Park when his #34 Valvoline/Wilson Security Volvo retired with Steering damage after 1 of the race’s 12 laps.

Jason Bright in the #8 BOC Holden started the race in the rear after his second last-place finish at Albert Park, however by the end of lap 1 Tim Blanchard in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution Holden collided with David Reynolds in the #9 Penrite Oils Holden and Andre Heimgartner in the #3 SP Tools Holden, damaging the suspension on car #21 and dropping 2 laps and to the rear until lap 4 when he passed James Moffat in the #34 Valvoline/Wilson Security Volvo, who had retired from the race due to Steering dramas, leading to his second last-place finish at Albert Park.

Rounding out the bottom five was Andre Heingartner in the #3 SP Tools Holden, with car #3 retiring late in the race after a tire failure with just a couple of laps to go, Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness Holden and Nick Percat in the #222 SP Tools Holden.
