First lap contact leaves Bright last at Albert Park

Jason Bright picked up his second last-place finish at Albert Park when his #8 BOC Holden was involved in a two-car crash that ended his race without completing a single lap of the first non-championship race at Albert Park.

Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness Holden started the race in the rear, however in the first turn on the first lap Jason Bright in the #8 BOC Holden was turned by Scott Pye in the #17 – Holden, damaging the nose of Bright’s car. In turn 3, the front bumper bar caught underneath the left-front of the car, causing the car to sail off the road and retiring car #8 from the race.

Next to fall out was Todd Kelly in the #7 Carsales.com Nissan, with car #7 losing an engine at the start of lap 2, triggering the only safety car of the race. Rounding out the bottom five was Nick Percat in the #222 SP Tools Holden, Aaren Russell in the #4 Plus Fitness Holden and Andre Heimgartner in the #3 SP Tools Holden.
