Lap 2 crash leaves Cameron Hill last, as Cameron Waters wipes himself out of Finals.

Cameron Hill (#4 Sherrin Rentals/Supaglass Chevrolet) finished last for the 5th time in his career. The finish was because of a Lap 2 crash that left him 10 laps down. The finish came in Hill’s 43d start.

Cameron Hill is in his 3rd full-time Championship season with Matt Stone Racing. He was previously at Red Bull in 2022 while racing for Super 2. Hill won a race in 2025 at Albert Park, and has been competitive this year. This is his 2nd last-place finish of the season. Hill qualified and ran the top 10 shootout in 6th.

Andre Heimgartner (#8 R&J Batteries Chevrolet) started the race last. Two early race incidents would leave two drivers in the bottom two positions.

Near the end of Lap 2, Cameron Hill (#4 Sherrin Rentals/Supaglass Chevrolet) crashed exiting Turn 9. Initially, Hill would limp back onto the track after a tire change. However, the damage was too severe, and Hill would lose 9 additional laps in the garage. With no retirements, Hill would finish last.

Ryan Wood (#2 Truck Assist/Mobil 1 Chevrolet) suffered a spindle failure on Lap 7 during a pit stop. The issue cost Wood 8 laps.

And now we move on to the collapse of Cameron Waters.

Cameron Waters (#6 Monster Energy Ford) completely screwed himself out of the Finals.

When Waters gets into an incident, he cannot let it go. He showed this in the second race. It all started with an incident with Matt Payne (#19 Penrite Ford) at race start. From there, the wheels came off.

Waters attempted to pass James Golding (#31 Nulon Chevrolet), but banged into him and cut his tire, costing Golding a lap. A penalty for Waters would cost more time.

Waters then retaliated against Matt Payne. With 31 laps to go, they clashed battling for fourth. The contact damaged both cars, sending both to the garage.

Waters would lose 1 lap with a puncture, then 4 additional laps with a broken shock absorber.

Payne, meanwhile, would suffer steering damage that would cost him 6 laps.
