Bad bounce on the Kerbs and Crash leaves Aaron Cameron last and Champion

Original by V8 Sleuth, edited by me.
Aaron Cameron (#3 Redarc Defence and Space Ford) finished last for the 5th time in his career. The finish came after he crashed out after 9 of the race’s 78 laps. This race was Cameron’s 34 start. The finish also means Aaron Cameron is you 2025 Repco Australia Superlastcar Champion.

The Blanchard Racing Team drafted Aaron Cameron to replace Aaron Love after the first round of the 2025 Supercars season. Winning the 2023 S5000 Australian and Tasman series and taking second in the Super 2 Championship shows his strong racing record. He was Aaron Love’s co-driver in 2024, where they finished 17th at Sandown and 23rd at Bathurst.

Aaron Cameron showed speed early, as he was 13th in Practice 1. He slid to 18th in Practice 2, then produced a mammoth performance to qualify 4th. Thanks to oil on the track catching two drivers out and an issue with a plug, Aaron Cameron was 2nd in the Top 10 Shootout.

Austin Cindric (#5 Armor All Ford) started the race last and held last during the first lap.

On Lap 2, Bryce Fullwood (#14 TRG Transport/Southern Contracting Group Chevrolet) hit the fence at 8, forcing him into the pits, dropping to last. Fullwood would lose 16 laps in repairs.

A few positions changed near the back of the field early on, including Jayden Ojeda (#62 Nulon Chevrolet), who had to pit to change a left-rear tire on Lap 5.

Fullwood would stay last until another crash changed things.

After starting 2nd and leading the first few laps, Aaron Cameron (#3 Redarc Defence and Space Ford) hit the turn 2 kerb.

Cameron then crashed out at Turn 3 on Lap 9. Cameron would fall to last on Lap 27. With this last-place finish, Aaron Cameron officially takes out the 2025 Repco Superlastcar Championship.

Austin Cindric (#5 Armor All Ford) pulled into the garage on Lap 48 with a broken shock from contact with Chaz Mostert (#25 Optus/Mobil 1 Ford). Cindric lost 7 laps in repairs.

Jack LeBrocq (#9 Tyrepower Chevrolet) spun at Turn 7 on Lap 71, losing 2 laps while trying to get going. Jack finished 21st.

Cameron Hill (#4 Supaglass Chevrolet) completed the Bottom Five after early race tire issues.
