Heavy Pit Entry crash leaves Van Gisgergen last at Monza

Shane Van Gisbergen picked up his 1st last-place finish of his career when his #97 Red Bull Holden Crashed into the pit-wall after 2 of the race's 19 laps. The finish came in Van Gisbergen's 3rd start.


Shane Van Gisbergen in the #97 Red Bull Holden started the race in the rear, but after a multi-car crash in turn 2, Ethan Grigg-Gault in the #117 Shannon's Ford dropped to the rear. But by Lap 8 Shane Van Gisbergen in the #97 Red Bull Holden crashed heavily on Lap 2, ending his race and dropping him to the rear.


Harley Haber in the #35 Kubota Holden made contact with Cooper Webster in the #5 Seiko 5 Holden, dropping Haber way back. He dropped further back when he copped a pit-lane drive-through penalty, and eventually retired on lap 12.


Rounding out the bottom, five was James Golding in the #440 Siochrome Holden, Sam Blacklock in the #17 Shell V-Power Ford and Josh Anderson in the #19 Coca-Cola Holden after fuel issues.
