Original by Supercars, edited by me.
James Courtney picked up his 1st last-place finish of his Race for the Grid career when his #25 Mobil 1/Boost Mobile Holden was involved in a single-car crash after 2 of the race's 20 laps.

Lee Holdsworth in the #18 Preston Hire/Fuchs Holden started the second race in the rear, but by turn 4 James Golding in the #34 Wilson Security/Garry Rogers '83 Tribute Holden had fallen to the rear.

On lap 2, catastrophe struck for James Courtney in the #25 Mobil 1/Boost Mobile Holden, smashing the wall at Turn 6, destroying the right-side of his car and triggering the first safety car of the race, dropping him to the rear.

Golding went on to half-spin Simona De Silvestro in the #78 Harvey Norman/LG Super UHD TV Retro Nissan, dropping both to 24th and 22nd, respectively.

Falling behind both De Silvestro and Golding is Nick Percat in the #8 Snapes Holden, who had to pit on lap 17. Finishing between Golding and De Silvestro is Todd Hazelwood in the #35 Bigmate/Optus Ford.
