Slick Tires + Wet Track = Last Place for Jason Bright at Launceston

Jason bright picked up his 17th last-place finish of his career when his #56 MEGA Bulk Fuels Ford was involved in a single car crash that ended his after 3 of the races shortened 76 laps. The finish came in Bright's 550th start.

Alex Rullo in the #62 Repair Management Australia Holden started the race in the rear, however by turn 3 Tim Blanchard in the #21 GB Galvanizing Holden had fallen to the rear.

Blanchard held last until lap 2 when Alex Rullo in the #62 Repair Management Australia/Castrol Holden spun Jason Bright in the 56 MEGA Bulk Fuels Ford. After spearing off the road in turn 7 on lap 3 Dale Wood in the #99 GB Galvanizing/Advan on slick tires, caught a wet patch coming out of turn 6, causing him to spin onto the kerb, the grass and finally hitting the tire wall, eventually triggering the first safety car of the race and leaving Bright last.

Next to fall out was Tim Blanchard in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution Holden who got wide coming out o the final corner, spinning spectacularly across the front straight and Scott Pye in the #2 Mobil 1 HSV Racing Holden, spearing across the track and into the wall, triggering the second Safety Car of the race. The last car to retire was Alex Rullo in the #62 Repair Management Australia Holden suffered race-ending front-end damage on lap 62.

Rounding out the bottom five was James Moffat in the #34 Wilson Security Holden after he was hit by Michael Caruso in the #23 Nismo Nissan, damaging the left-rear on Moffat's car, losing 6 laps in repairs and Todd Kelly in the #7 carsales.com Nissan who spun off at turn 6 with brake issues on lap 71, losing 4 laps.
