Electrical failure leaves Fullwood last at Sydney Motorsport Park

Original by Supercars, edited by me.

Bryce Fullwood picked up the 3rd last-place finish of his career when his #2 Middy's Electrical Holden retired with Electrical issues after 18 of the race's 32 laps. The finish came in Fullwood's 61st start.

Bryce Fullwood is in his 2nd full-time season and has one podium to his name. He was 12th in Practice 1 but rose to 10th in Practice 2. He slipped back to 12th in Qualifying.

Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden started the race in the rear, but between Turns 1 and 2, James Courtney in the #44 Boost Mobile Holden was turned by Tim Slade in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden after slightly earlier contact with Scott Pye in the #20 DeWalt Holden, sending Courtney sliding against the wall, dropping him to last.

First pitstops started on lap 6, and Tim Slade in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden pitted and fell to last.

Next to the pit was Andre Heimgartner in the #7 NED Ford on lap 9, switching last with Slade. Macauley Jones in the #96 Coca Cola Holden pitted on lap 11 and fell to last, followed by Garry Jacobson in the #22 Muscle Car Warehouse Holden after his Lap 12 pitstop, followed by Jake Kostecki in the #34 UNIT Holden pitting and falling to last on Lap 14.

Nick Percat in the #8 R & J Batteries Holden was steered into the garage on Lap 16 with Suspension failure, dropping him to last, losing 7 laps in repairs.

He held last until Bryce Fullwood in the #2 Middy's Electrical Holden shut off with Electrical issues, triggering the first Safety Car of the race. Fullwood would drop to last on Lap 25.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was Cameron Waters in the #6 Monster Energy Ford was taken out by Jack LeBrocq in the #5 Truck Assist Ford on lap 21, taking Waters out of the race and handing LeBrocq a drive-through penalty. Waters lost 3 laps in repairs.

Courtney and, post-race, Luke Youlden rounded out the Bottom Five.
