Electrical Issues give Jacobson the lead at Symmons Plains

Original by Kelly Racing, edited by me.
Garry Jacobson picked up his 2nd last-place finish of his career when his #3 Rabble.club finished under power, but too many laps down to be classified due to Electrical issues in the 2nd race at Launceston. The finish came in Jacobson's 15th start.

Garry Jacobson replaced Michael Caruso in the 2019 season, running for ROTY with Macauley Jones. He was 23rd in Practice 1, then was slowest in Practice 2. He only improved slightly to 24th in Practice 3, and was slowest again in Practice 4.

In qualifying, Jacobson was caught up in a multi-car pileup involving the other ROTY contender, Maculey Jones, Andre Heimgartner, Anton De Pasquale, himself and Will Davison, which damaged several cars, and left Jacobson qualifying 22nd.

Macauley Jones in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution Holden started the race in the rear after a multi-car crash in qualifying, but immediately firstly Andre Heimgartner in the #7 Plus Fitness Nissan, then Lee Holdsworth in the #18 Bottle-O-Ford fell to the rear. Heimgartner fell back to last on lap 2. By lap 4 Macualey Jones fell to the rear.

Jones held last until lap 15 when Scott McLaughlin in the #17 Shell V-Power Ford pitted, dropping to the rear. The following lap James Courtney in the #22 MEGA Bulk Fuels Holden, dropping to the rear. Will Davison in the #230 Milwake Ford pitted on lap 20 and fell to last.

Sometime during the 1st pit-stop, Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden pitted, and spent an extended period in the pit-lane, dropping a lap and putting him to last. Smooth would eventually finish 24th.

Garry Jacobson in the #3 Rabble.club Nissan pulled into the garage on lap 48 with Electrical issues, dropping him to the rear. Although he did eventually get back out, he didn't complete enough laps to be classified as a finisher.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was Anton De Pasquale in the #99 Penrite Oils/ECP Energy Solutions Holden after a gear shifter broke on lap 70, Jack LeBrocq in the #19 Truck Assist Holden and Simona De Silvestro in the #78 Harvey Norman/LG Super UHD TV Nissan.
