Third generation Seton last after penalty in wildcard appearance at Townsville

Aaron Seton (#30 Superior Cranes Chevrolet) finished last for the first time in his career. The finish came after he finished under power, on the lead lap in the first race at Townsville. The finish came in Seton’s 4th start.

Aaron Seton is a 3rd generation Seton, son of Glenn and grandson of Barry. The latter passed away earlier this year. Aaron Seton has run a few races as co-driver to Cameron Crick in 2022 and Jack LeBrocq in 2025. After Cameron Crick’s illness, Matt Stone Racing drafted Aaron Seton in for Matt Stone Racing’s wildcard at Townsville. Aaron Seton was slowest of the 26 entries in both Practice and Qualifying.

Aaron Seton’s race wouldn’t improve, as on Lap 2 he spun out Macauley Jones (#96 Alpha Theta Toyota) at Turn 2 and copped a 15-second time penalty for the incident.

Over the course of pitstops, several drivers cycled through last place. The first pitstop was on Lap 12 by Anton De Pasquale (#18 Club Cadet Chevrolet). Cameron Hill (#14 Sinopec Toyota) fell to last during a pitstop next.

Zach Bates (#10 Bendix Chevrolet) would fall behind Hill a few laps later. The other wildcard, Reuben Goodall (#5 MG Plasteres Ford) fell behind Bates after his pitstop.

Finally, on Lap 23, Aaron Seton pitted and served his penalty, which dropped him to last, where he remained for the remainder of the race.

The Bottom Five got filled out by Reuben Goodall (#5 MG Plasteres Ford), Macauley Jones (#96 Alpha Theta Toyota), Zach Bates (#10 Bendix Chevrolet) and Jobe Stewart (#9 Solo Energy Chevrolet).
