Post-Race penalty leaves Jack LeBrocq with consecutive last-place finish at Hidden Valley

Credit: Supercars

Jack LeBrocq (#4 Sherrin Rentals Chevrolet) picked up the 22nd last-place finish of his career. This last-place finish, the second in consecutive races, came after a post-race penalty after 35 laps. The finish came in LeBrocq’s 284th start.

Jack LeBrocq is in his 9th full-time season, one of five 2018 rookies alongside Richie Stanaway, Anton De Pasquale, Todd Hazelwood, and James Golding. Only Jack LeBrocq and Anton De Pasquale have raced all 8 years. Hazelwood is currently co-driver with Brodie Kostecki. Richie Stanaway’s full-time career is over after being sacked by Premiair Hire Racing. Golding is back in the sport and doing well at the Blanchard Racing Team. Jack LeBrocq debuted with Tekno Autosports. He moved to Tickford in 2020 and won his first race with them. LeBrocq then moved to Matt Stone Racing in 2022. In 2023, he won his second race before moving to Erebus Motorsports in 2024. LeBrocq would move back to Matt Stone Racing in 2026.

Jack LeBrocq is also a 2-time last-place champion. Scott Pye is the only other driver to have that misfortune.

Jackson Walls (#11 Objective Ford) started last. Jobe Stewart (#9 Solo Energy/7-Eleven Chevrolet) fell to last off the start. Stewart stayed close to those in front initially.

Pit stops begin on Lap 6. Ryan Wood (#2 Truck Assist/NTI Toyota) was the first to pit and dropped to last. A lap later, Wood would pass Cameron Hill (#14 FGI Toyota) as the latter pitted.

Hill held last until Lap 14, when more drivers pitted. Jobe Stewart would pit that lap and fall behind Hill.

Stewart held last for six laps. Lap 20 saw Declan Fraser (#777 Premiair Hire/Nulon Chevrolet) pit and fall to last. Fraser jumped ahead of Jackson Walls (#11 Objective Ford) two laps later.

It looked like Walls would finish last for the 4th time this season. Until Jack LeBrocq (#4 Sherrin Rentals Chevrolet) spun David Reynolds (#20 Snowy River Caravans Chevrolet) at Turn 5 on Lap 32.

Reynolds struggled to get going. This triggered a 1-lap Safety Car on lap 33.

Jack LeBrocq would cop a 15-second time penalty. Which, thanks to a 1 lap dash, left him last.

Reynolds gained no places in the 1 lap dash and finished 23rd. The Bottom Five filled out with Jackson Walls (#11 Objective Ford), Rylan Gray (#38 Shell V-Power Ford) and Jobe Stewart (#9 Solo Energy/7-Eleven Chevrolet).

I must give shoutouts to Jayden Ojeda, who finished 9th, and Macauley Jones who finished 10th.
