Jackwon Walls (#11 Overdrive Ford)
picked up the 3rd last-place finish. He finished last, on the lead
lap, in the second race at Ruapuna. The finish came in Walls’ 12th
start. This last-place finish means Jackson Walls takes the lead of the 2026
Repco Superlastcar Championship.
Jackson Walls came out of nowhere in
2018, jumping up to Formula 4. He would ascend the Formulas until he switched
to the Toyota Racing Series in 2019. He won 1 race there, in 2020 at Pukekohe.
Walls moved to Super 2 and Porsche in 2025, and SCT Logistics Racing promoted
him to the main game in 2026 when they switched teams. But the introduction has
been rough, with last-place finishes at Albert Park and Taupo. He Practiced 21st
and qualified last.
Jackson Walls (#11 Objective Ford)
started the race last. But Macauley Jones (#96 JWT/Coregas Toyota) fell to last
before the end of the first lap. Jones would hold last until Lap 11, when
Jackson Walls (#11 Objective Ford) ran off the road and fell behind everyone. Pit
stops start on Lap 13, with Cameron Hill (#14 Electro-Voice/Jayco Toyota)
pitting and dropping to last. Aaron Cameron (#3 Liqui Moly Ford) spun out
Cooper Murray (#99 Total Energies Chevrolet) on Lap 14 at Turn 4. Cameron would
cop a 15-second time penalty for the contact, which he took at his pit stop.
The penalty dropped Aaron Cameron to last.
Declan Fraser (#777 Nulon Chevrolet)
pitted and fell to last. Followed by Macauley Jones (#96 JWT/Coregas Toyota)
after his pitstop. Aaron Cameron would relegate Macauley Jones to last on Lap
29. Then, on Lap 34, Jones would relegate Walls to last.
The Bottom Five went to Macauley Jones
(#96 JWT/Coregas Chevrolet), Declan Fraser (#777 Premair Hire/Nulon Chevrolet)
and Jobe Stewart (#9 Erebus Chevrolet).
