Jaxon Evans picked up the 2nd last-place finish of his career when his #12 SCT Logistics Chevrolet was penalised post-race for a racing incident in the first race at Symmonds Plains. The finish came in Evans' 20th start.

Jaxon Evans joined Brad Jones Racing in 2024 after being co-driver for Jack Smith in 2022 and 2023. Evans replaced Smith after outpacing him at Bathurst. Evans has been doing OK during the 2024 season, though he has a last-place finish from Albert Park. Evans’ best finish is 10th at Taupō and 11th at Hidden Valley. He was 21st in Practice 1, then improved to 19th in Practice 2 where he also Qualified.

Will Davison in the #17 Shell V-Power Ford started the race in the rear but spun Matt Payne in the #19 Penrite Oils Ford at Turn 6 on Lap 1, leaving Payne last.

Lap 10 would see Aarom Love in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Ford get shoved wide and hit by several drivers, including Richie Stanaway in the #26 Penrite Oils Ford, Jaxon Evans in the #12 SCT Logistics Chevrolet, surf through the grass on the front straight, then a final serve from Will Davison in the #17 Shell V-Power Ford sent him to the rear.

Pitstops starts Lap 18 with Ryan Wood in the #2 Truck Assist Chevrolet, dropping to last in his pitstop. The following Lap, Jack LeBrocq in the #9 Tyrepower/SS Signs Chevrolet pitted and dropped to last. Richie Stanaway in the #26 Penrite Oils Ford pitted and fell to last on Lap 23, followed by Macauley Jones in the #96 Pizza Hut Chevrolet after he pitted on Lap 25. On lap 31, Anton De Pasquale in the #11 Shell V-Power Ford pitted and fell to last. Love would return to last on Lap 34 after his pitstop. Finally, Matt Payne in the #19 Penrite Oils Ford pitted on Lap 40 and dropped to last.

On Lap 49, James Courtney in the #7 Snowy River Caravans Ford dropped to last. Then, on the final lap, Jack LeBrocq in the #9 Tyrepower/SS Signs Chevrolet fell to last. However, post-race penalties will see Jaxon Evans in the #12 SCT Logistics Chevrolet fall to last.

Completing the Bottom Five were Jack LeBrocq in the #9 Tyrepower/SS Signs Chevrolet, Andre Heimgartner in the #8 R&J Batteries Chevrolet after spinning Mark Winterbottom in the #18 DeWalt Chevrolet on the last lap, James Courtney in the #7 Snowy River Caravans Ford and Aaron Love in the #3 Coooldrive Distribution Ford.

This 2nd last place finish also means Jack LeBrocq now leads the 2024 Repco Superlastcar Championship by one Bottom Five finish over Ryan Wood.
