Scott Pye picked up the 14th last-place finish of his career when his #20 Seiko/Nulon Holden retired with Power Steering dramas after 33 of the race's 77 laps. The finish came in Pye's 279th start.
Scott
Pye is a veteran of the sport but had a rough start to his career
when several big crashes. He was 5th in Practice 1 and rose to 4th in
Practice 2. He plunged to 12th in Qualifying.
Jake
Kostecki in the #56 Tradie Ford started the race in the rear, but
immediately Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden fell to the rear
after a slow start.
He battled with Macauley Jones in the #96
Tech.com Holden, passing him at the end of Lap 1. Jones kept on
Pither's tail during the early laps. Pither would drop back to last
on lap 7.
Scott Pye in the #20 Seiko Holden had a Power
Steering failure and dropped to last as he pulled into the garage,
losing 23 laps in Repairs. and would retire on lap 55.
David
Reynolds in the #26 Penrite Holden pulled into the garage on Lap 40
with a Gearbox drama, losing 12 laps in repairs.
Rounding
out the Bottom Five was Chris Pither in the #22 Coca-Cola Holden,
Macauley Jones in the #96 Tech.com Holden and Lee Holdsworth in the
#10 Penrite Oils Ford.
