Aaron Cameron (#3 Cooldrive Distribution Ford) picked up the 1st last-place finish of his career, finishing under power, on the lead lap, in the second race at Taupō. The finish came on Cameron’s 7th start.
The Blanchard Racing Team drafted Aaron Cameron in to replace Aaron Love after the first round of the 2025 Supercars season. Winning the 2023 S5000 Australian and Tasman series and taking second in the Super 2 Championship shows his strong racing record. He was Aaron Love’s co-driver in 2024, where they finished 17th at Sandown and 23rd at Bathurst. He was 23rd in Practice 1 and slowest in Practice 2. He qualified 23rd, only beating his teammate James Courtney (#7 Snowy River Caravans Ford).
James Courtney (#7 Snowy River Caravans Ford) started in the rear. By Lap 3 Courtney overtook Aaron Cameron (#3 Cooldrive Distribution Ford). Aaron Cameron would hold last during the race’s early stages. Aaron Cameron would overtake Cooper Murray (#99 TTG Chevrolet) on lap 13.
Pit stops start on lap 15 as Will Brown (#1 Red Bull/Ampol Chevrolet), dropping Brown to last. Brown passed Bryce Fullwood (#14 Mr Umami Chevrolet) when Fullwood pitted on lap 16. Fullwood would overtake Murray on Lap 17, and Murray would overtake James Courtney (#7 Snowy River Caravans Ford) on Lap 18. Courtney overtook Cameron Hill on Lap 19.
Anton De Pasquale (#18 DeWalt/Fuchs Chevrolet) had a difficult pit stop and a late-race collision with fellow bottom 5 finisher Richie Stanaway (#62 Nulon Chevrolet).
