Todd Hazelwood picked up his 2nd last-place finish of his
career when his #35 Nulon/BigMate Holden was involved in a 3-car crash that
ended his race after 1 of the race's 24 laps. The finish came in Hazelwood's 56th

Hazelwood's in his 2nd year in the Supercars and
was having a much stronger run than he was last year. He was 20th in
1st Practice, then rose to 19th on 2nd
Practice. He rose further to 12th in Practice 3 and fell to 20th
in qualifying.
Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden started the race
in the rear but by Turn 1 Macauley Jones in the #21 Cooldrive Distribution
Holden was spun to the back of the field. Thomas Randle in the #66 Scandia Ford
was also spun to 2nd last.
At turn 6, disaster strikes as Will Davison in the #230 Milwaukee
Ford was spun out by Rick Kelly in the #15 Sengled Nissan, the spinning Davison
then collected Simona De Silvestro in the #78 Harvey Norman Nissan and Todd
Hazelwood in the #35 Nulon Holden, sending all three to the garage, with
Hazelwood last due to being the last one back to the lane.
After his pit-lane drive-through penalty, Rick Kelly in the
#15 Sengled Nissan finished 23rd. Rounding out the bottom five was Jack Smith
in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden.
