Will Davison picked up his 13th last-place finish
of his career when his #19 Darrell Lea STIX Holden finished under power, 1 lap
down in the second race at Eastern Creek. The finish came in Davison’s 351st
start.
Karl Reindler in the #18 Preston Hire/Fuchs Holden started
the race in the rear, however by turn 1 Shay Davies in the #4 Westfield Eastgardens/SupaCenta
Moore Park Holden had fallen to the rear, losing eight seconds by the end of
lap 1. Davies held last until lap 7 when Mark Winterbottom in the #1 Bottle-O
Ford had to pit with a delaminated tire, dropping him to last. Nick Percat fell
to the rear on lap 10 when he pitted for the first time.
Percat held last until lap 13 when disaster struck for Will
Davison in the #19 STIX Holden, when a miscalculation on the team's part led to car 19 running out of fuel on lap 12, dropping a
lap (nearly two) while his car was retrieved from the entrance to the pit-lane. falling to
the rear. Davison held last for the rest of the race.
