First Lap crash leaves Kai Allen last at Symmonds Plains

Original by Riverina Model Cars, edited by me.

Kai Allen (#26 Penite Oils Ford) picked up the 2nd last-place finish of his career after finishing 13 laps down in the last race at Symmonds Plains. The finish came in Allen’s 18th start.

Success in Super 3 and Super 2 paved Kai Allen’s path to the main game.

Kai Allen got 2nd in Super 3, and then 1st and 3rd in Super 2. He has run a couple of races as co-driver. This included his last-place finish at Sandown last year after he didn’t get a drive due co-driver Stanaway’s Engine failure early in the race. Kai Allen was 23rd in Practice 1, but skyrocketed to 8th in Practice 2. Kai Allen slid to 14th in qualifying.

Cooper Murray (#99 Snap-on Chevrolet) collided with Anton De Pasquale (#18 DeWalt Chevrolet) at Turn 2 on Lap 1. The collision spun Murray’s car, and he then hit Kai Allen (#26 Penrite Oils Ford), damaging both cars. Both Allen and Murray would pull into the garage on Lap 4, sending Murray to last. Murray would lose 7 laps in repairs, while Allen would lose 12 laps.

The rest of the Bottom Five would separate during the race.

A collision occurred on lap 28 between Bryce Fullwood (#14 Shure Chevrolet) and Brodie Kostecki (#38 Shell V-Power Ford) at the exit of Turn 3. Fullwood was rejoining the race after a pit stop. The contact sent Kostecki into the wall. The collision triggered a Safety Car. Damage forced Kostecki into the garage twice, costing him 13 laps. Fullwood lost a lap, changing a flat tire. He then lost another lap because of two penalties: one for contact with Kostecki and one for a safety car infringement. On Lap 57, Anton De Pasquale (#18 DeWalt Chevrolet) suffered an engine issue because of exhaust damage, losing 13 laps, but would stay ahead of Allen.

Multiple incidents and a spin leaves Aaron Cameron last, and leading, at Symmonds Plains

Original by Supercars, edited by me.

Aaron Cameron (#3 Cooldrive Distribution Ford) picked up the 2nd last-place finish of his career, finishing under power, on the lead lap, in the second race at Symmonds Plains. The finish came on Cameron’s 10th start. This finish also puts Aaron Cameron in the lead of the 2025 Superlastcar Championship.

The Blanchard Racing Team drafted Aaron Cameron in to replace Aaron Love after the first round of the 2025 Supercars season. Winning the 2023 S5000 Australian and Tasman series and taking second in the Super 2 Championship shows his strong racing record. He was Aaron Love’s co-driver in 2024, where they finished 17th at Sandown and 23rd at Bathurst. Aaron Cameron was slowest in Practice 1, but improved to 22nd in Practice 2, and would qualify in the same position.

Will Davison (#17 Shell V-Power Ford) began the race from the back of the pack. However, Aaron Cameron (#3 Cooldrive Distribution Ford) spun Ryan Wood (#2 Mobil 1/Truck Assist Ford) at turn 1, relegating Wood to last place.

Lap 4 saw Richie Stanaway (#62 Isuzu/Nulon Chevrolet) and Aaron Cameron tangle at Turn 6, sending Stanaway around and back to last.

Pit-stops started on Lap 14 when Ryan Wood pitted and dropped to last. Will Davison pitted Lap 17 and fell behind Wood. Lap 21 saw Aaron Cameron put and fall behind Davison. Cameron would fall further behind after spinning on Lap 21. Aaron Cameron would remain last for the rest of the race.

Cameron Hill (#4 SupaGlass Chevrolet) finished 23rd after being spun out by Anton De Pasquale (#18 DeWalt Chevrolet).

Richie Stanaway (#62 Isuzu/Nulon Chevrolet), Will Davison (17 Shell V-Power Ford) and Cooper Murray (#99 Snap-On Chevrolet) rounded out the Bottom Five.
