Garry Jacobson picked up the 9th last-place finish of his career when his #22 Premair Hire Holden retired with a Steering Vibration after 18 of the race's 38 laps. The finish came in Jacobson's 78th start and brings him back to the top of the Superlastcar Championship.
Garry Jacobson is in his 3rd full-time season in Supercars. He was slowest in Practice 1, but rose to 24th in Practice 2, and kept 24th in Qualifying.
Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden started the race in the rear, but immediately Kurt Kostecki in the #27 Boost Mobile Holden fell to the rear, and battles with Smith early.
Lap 2 saw Thomas Randle in the #55 Castrol Ford fell to the rear. Randle got back past Smith on lap 4.
Then Zane Goddard in the #35 Yellow Cover Holden fell to the rear after being punted by Kurt Kostecki in the #27 Castrol Ford.
Pitstops then began at the end of Lap 4, and Kurt Kostecki pitted and dropped to the rear, then on lap 6 Jake Kostecki in the #34 UNIT Holden had a wheel nut problem during his pitstop, dropping to the rear in the process.
Lap 14 saw Jack Smith returns to last, though with Tim Slade in the #3 Cooldrive Distribution Holden not far in front. Lap 17 saw Garry Jacobson in the #22 Permair Hire Holden pulled into the garage with a Steering Vibration, dropping to the rear. He got back out, but too many laps down to be classified.
Rounding out The bottom five was Thomas Randle in the #55 Castrol Ford after mechanical issues, Jake Kostecki in the #34 UNIT Holden after an additional pitstop, Jack Smith in the #4 SCT Logistics Holden and Zane Goddard in the #35 Yellow Cover Holden.
