Fabian Coulthard
picked up his 7th last-place finish of his career when his #12 Pirtek
Ford retired with a misfiring Engine after 3 of the race's 45 laps.
The finish came in Coulthard's 301st start.
Aaren Russell in
the #4 Plus Fitness Holden started the race in the rear, however
before the start Fabian Coulthard in the #12 Pirtek Ford suffered
Electrical issues, dropping to the rear, then early in lap 1 Chris
Pither in the #111 Ice Break Ford fell to the rear, and by lap 3 was
in the garage with Steering issues, eventually leaving Pither 9 laps
down to race winner Scott McLaughlin.
On the following
lap, Fabian Coulthard in the #12 Pirtek Ford pulled into the garage
with an Engine misfire that eventually KO'ed Coulthard from the race,
leaving him last. Splitting Coulthard and Pither was Jason Bright in
the #8 BOC Holden who retired with Power Steering failure on lap 36,
dropping him to 25th.
Rounding out the
bottom five was Cameron Waters in the #6 Pepsi Max/Castrol Ford after
a major right-front tire failure on lap 34, dropping a lap in repairs
and causing the only Safety Car of the race and Aaren Russell in the
#4 Plus Fitness Holden.
